Job summary

Valiant Technologies LLC in Atlanta, GA is seeking a senior backend engineer to design and develop robust Java 11/17+ applications. You will build and maintain microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

You'll work with Kafka, RabbitMQ, and modern data stores, implement secure auth with OAuth2/OIDC/JWT, participate in CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes deployments, and leverage AI-assisted tools where relevant.

Qualifications

• Design and develop backend applications using Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
• Build and maintain microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
• Develop event-driven applications using Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Design, optimize, and maintain databases using Oracle SQL/PLSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Develop automated tests using JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers, and contract testing.
• Deploy and manage applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
• Follow secure coding practices, CI/CD standards, and Agile methodologies.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Claude API where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Design backend services and APIs in Java 11/17+ with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
• Develop and maintain microservices and distributed systems; ensure scalability and reliability.
• Work with Kafka/RabbitMQ for event-driven processing and data integration.
• Securely implement OAuth2/OIDC/JWT and identity management across platforms.
• Create robust tests with JUnit 5, Mockito, and Testcontainers; perform contract testing.
• Containerize and orchestrate apps with Docker and Kubernetes on AWS; support CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to secure coding practices.
