Job summary

Valiant Technologies LLC in Austin, TX seeks a skilled Java Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend applications and RESTful services. You will work with Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate, and microservices, delivering enterprise-grade software and robust data access layers.

You’ll collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps and product teams, implement unit and integration tests, optimize queries, and ensure security with JWT/OAuth2.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Core Java, including multithreading and exception handling.
• Proficient in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data JPA.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices with ORM-based data access.
• Familiarity with SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and ORM concepts.

We are seeking a skilled Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in Spring Boot, JPA, and Hibernate to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and RESTful services. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience building enterprise-grade applications, integrating databases, and implementing high-performance microservices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java 8/11/17 and Spring Boot.
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices following industry best practices.
• Implement data access layers using JPA (Java Persistence API) and Hibernate ORM.
• Optimize database queries and improve application performance.
• Design and maintain relational database schemas.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external systems.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Perform unit testing and integration testing.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, QA, DevOps, and product managers.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in Core Java, Collections, Multithreading, and Exception Handling.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data JPA.
• Strong knowledge of Hibernate and ORM concepts.
• Experience with REST API development and integration.
• Knowledge of SQL and databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
• Familiarity with Maven or Gradle build tools.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Understanding of Microservices Architecture.
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito, and API testing tools like Postman.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
