Job summary

DevSelect seeks an experienced Java Application Developer for the Seattle area on a contract-to-hire basis. The role requires strong Java J2EE/JSP, REST, and messaging with ActiveMQ, plus experience with NoSQL systems like MongoDB/Couchbase/CouchDB.

You will contribute to multi-tier architectures, API platforms (Apigee), and CI/CD practices. Responsibilities include implementing data integration, designing scalable enterprise solutions, and mentoring teams.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in information systems, computer science, business administration or related work experience.
• 5+ years of commercial or enterprise large scale web application and implementation, specifically Java J2EE, JSP.
• 3+ years development and implementation of Web Services and/or SOA
• 3+ years experience with messaging service (ActiveMQ)
• 3+ years working with RESTApi like Jersey
• 2+ years with API development platforms (Apigee)
• Working experience with Spring (Boot, Security) and Hibernate/JPA
• Experience with testing using JUnit/TestNG/Mockito
• Knowledge of data stores like MongoDB, Couchbase, Redis, Infinispan
• Working knowledge of Oracle and DB design
• Development tools: Eclipse, IntelliJ, Maven, Jenkins
• Experience with CI practices
• Excellent documentation/knowledge transfer
• Familiarity with Javascript/React preferred
• Strong communication and mentorship abilities
• Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities

Responsibilities

• Understanding of multi-tier web app architecture with appropriate abstraction across layers.
• Implements data integration and data access via web services, XML, SOA, WSDL, REST, messaging.
• Designs scalable enterprise information architecture and distributed apps.
• Participates in code reviews and enforces standards and best practices.
• Create and maintain web app architectural documentation and standards.
• Facilitates knowledge transfer to development and support teams.
• Maintain effective relationships with user department personnel.
• Provides technical support and troubleshoots application issues and bugs.
