Job summary

Language Trainers is seeking a freelance Japanese tutor for 1-on-1 sessions with a beginner student located near Birmingham, AL (35242). The role offers part-time, freelance work with sessions of two hours, scheduled weekly to fit the client’s needs.

The client is flexible about location, with a preference for the trainer's office or closer proximity to the city center. The ideal candidate is a native Japanese speaker or holds a relevant teaching qualification, has prior teaching/translator

Qualifications

• Be a native Japanese speaker and/or hold a relevant teaching qualification.
• Have experience as a language teacher, translator or interpreter.
• Have a valid work permit/visa.
• Live within 20 miles of the specified location.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 Japanese lessons to a beginner/elementary student.
• Tailor lessons to business-oriented and travel contexts.
• Maintain scheduling around client availability (weekends flexible; weekdays typically after 6pm in reference area).

• Location: I’d prefer my trainers office (client's location for reference: 35242, Birmingham (Alabama))


• Student Level: Beginner/Elementary


• Student Age Group: 25-34


• Schedule:2-hour lessons once per week -For weekends, any time would be fine (depending on holidays/vacations), weekdays I work till 5. Mon & Fri I am WFH, the other days I am in downtown Bham. If during the weekdays, I would say around 6 or so (depending on where the tutor is located)


• Start Date:I would like to start in late August or early September.


• Motivation:I would like to one day work in Japan, my main goal is to reach business level Japanese.
