Job summary

Regal Cinemas, Inc. is seeking a theatre janitor to ensure all auditoriums, lobby, hallways and restrooms are cleaned before opening. The role may be variable hour, part-time fixed, part-time regular or full-time, and is on Regal’s payroll.

The candidate should be 18 years or older and may have prior janitorial experience. The position involves safety procedures, equipment use, and reporting to management.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Prior janitorial experience preferred.
• Able to read and understand training materials on harassment and discrimination.
• Able to interface effectively with co‑workers and display sensitivity to others.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
• Clean all auditoriums prior to opening for business.
• Ensure lobby and hallway areas are clean prior to opening.
• Ensure restrooms are clean and stocked prior to opening.
• Keep janitorial closet clean, organized and stocked with supplies.
• Operate equipment such as vacuums and compactors.
• Report facility damage to the General Manager.
• Secure and report found items to management.
• Maintain building security and manage alarms as required.
• Ensure non‑public areas are secure, including arming/disarming alarms.
• Follow safety procedures and read training materials.
• Abide by breaks and meal period regulations.

Summary: The theatre janitor is a team member classified based on individual theatre needs, and/or employee availability, as either variable hour, part-time fixed, part-time regular or a full-time hourly employee solely employed by Regal and on Regal’s payroll and who is responsible for ensuring that all auditoriums, lobby and hallway areas, and bathrooms are cleaned prior to the opening for business. Represent and act as a representative of Regal in a way that is consistent with our mission statement and policies. Must be 18 years old or older.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Regular and Consistent Attendance


• Cleaning all auditoriums prior to opening for business


• Ensuring all lobby and hallway areas are properly cleaned prior to opening for business


• Ensuring all restrooms are clean and stocked prior to opening for business


• Ensuring the janitorial closet area is clean, organized and stocked with needed supplies


• Expected to use equipment such as vacuums and compactor


• Reporting any facility damage found to the General Manager


• Responsible for securing and reporting any found items to management.


• Maintain building security in keeping doors secured and alarm set and disabled as required (if applicable).


• Ensure all non-public areas are secure including arming, disarming and general operation of the alarm system.


• Abide by all federal and state laws with regards to breaks and/or meal periods.


• Have knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures.


• Required to read and understand training materials that will cover subjects such as sexual harassment and discrimination.
