Job summary

GDI Integrated Facility Services is seeking a supervisor for the janitorial team in Dearborn, MI. You will oversee daily operations, perform cleaning tasks, and ensure all areas meet quality and safety standards.

You will train and mentor staff on procedures and equipment, operate cleaning gear, monitor supplies, and communicate with management. Union staff experience is a plus, with 90-day probation and background/drug screening requirements.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in janitorial or custodial services is preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

• Reliable and detail-oriented performance required.
• Experience managing Union staff is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities of the janitorial team and provide support.
• Clean and assist with cleaning tasks alongside team members.
• Ensure areas meet quality and safety standards set by the company.
• Train and mentor staff on cleaning procedures and equipment use.
• Operate and maintain commercial cleaning equipment.
• Monitor inventory and report supply needs to management.
• Communicate effectively with management about daily operations.
• Some roles include managing Union staff or having prior experience.
• A supervisor may have one or two floors of cleaning responsibility.
