Job summary

CW Resources is seeking a skilled and dependable Janitorial Supervisor to support daily custodial operations at the New London Subbase. You will lead and train custodial staff, perform hands-on cleaning tasks, and ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety.

The role requires 2–4 years of custodial experience, OSHA safety knowledge, and the ability to obtain government base access. A valid driver's license and Real ID are required. Occasional weekend work may be needed.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of custodial or janitorial experience in commercial, institutional, or industrial settings.
  • Experience providing day-to-day guidance, training, or direction to custodial staff.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and safe chemical handling practices.
  • Strong understanding of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and Real ID.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and train custodial staff in daily cleaning tasks ensuring standards and procedures are followed.
  • Perform routine custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restroom sanitation, trash removal.
  • Conduct regular inspections to verify cleanliness and safety compliance.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and notify for replenishment.
  • Ensure proper use, care, and storage of custodial equipment; report malfunctions.
  • Respond to urgent cleaning needs, spills, and safety hazards promptly.
  • Coordinate with building management and other departments to address facilities issues.
  • Assist in implementing cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and quality-control measures.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and productive work environment.

Location & Schedule
  • Location: New London Subbase
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM (Occasional weekends may be required)

CW is seeking a skilled and dependable Janitorial Supervisor to support daily custodial operations, uphold high standards of cleanliness, and perform hands‑on cleaning duties while providing guidance and training to custodial staff.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and train custodial staff in the performance of daily cleaning tasks, ensuring work is completed in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Perform routine custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restroom sanitation, trash removal, and other cleaning functions as required.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to verify cleanliness, identify deficiencies, and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of cleaning supplies, materials, and equipment; notify the Custodial Project Manager of replenishment needs.
  • Ensure proper use, care, and storage of custodial equipment, reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
  • Respond to urgent cleaning needs, spills, and safety hazards in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate with building management, maintenance personnel, and other departments to address facility-related issues and support operational needs.
  • Assist the Custodial Project Manager in implementing cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and quality-control measures.
  • Promote and maintain a positive, respectful, and productive work environment that supports teamwork and high performance.
What You'll Need to be Successful
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, institutional, or industrial setting.
  • Experience providing day-to-day guidance, training, or direction to custodial staff in an operational setting.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and safe chemical handling practices.
  • Strong understanding of various cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Physical & Environmental Demands
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout your shift to clean and maintain different areas.
  • Repetitive motions such as mopping, sweeping, wiping, and scrubbing surfaces.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull cleaning equipment and supplies weighing up to 25-30 pounds regularly.
  • Navigating stairs, ramps, or uneven flooring safely while carrying tools or supplies.
  • Work is primarily indoors in commercial buildings with varying temperatures and lighting conditions.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and solvents - training is provided to ensure safe handling, and personal protective equipment (PPE) is always required.
  • Possible exposure to dust, dirt, allergens, and other typical indoor environmental factors.
  • May encounter biohazardous materials or bodily fluids (especially in healthcare or public restrooms) with proper safety protocols and PPE in place.
  • Working in confined or awkward spaces such as under sinks, behind furniture, or inside equipment areas may be required.
  • Noise from vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and other cleaning machinery may be present; hearing protection provided when necessary.
