Job summary

Interstate Premier Facility Services Provider seeks an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily activities across client sites, ensuring clean, safe environments and high customer satisfaction.   • A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in janitorial/commercial cleaning.
  • Experience managing a janitorial team with motivation, coaching and development.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage budgets and interact with clients.
  • Ability to travel and coordinate with clients across sites.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily activities of assigned portfolio sites, including cleaning of offices, concourses, seating areas, washrooms, and public spaces.
  • Plan, organize, and direct team members to achieve high customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and perform all special project work for assigned buildings.
  • Communicate with home office to improve operations and employee experience.
  • Supervise janitorial staff on a daily basis.
  • Report to Director on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain and order cleaning supplies and inventory.
  • Process payroll for all staff.
  • Schedule and train new janitorial staff.
  • Manage disciplinary actions and performance with HR support.
  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct.
  • Conduct building inspections and report to client.
  • Communicate with clients via phone and email.
  • Plan and coordinate startups, including recruiting and training.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards in housekeeping.
  • Ensure maintenance of equipment and arrange repairs/replacements.

Job tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily supervision of the janitorial staff.
  • Communicate and report to Director on weekly basis.
  • Maintain and order cleaning supplies and inventory.
  • Process all payroll for all staff.
  • Schedule and train all new janitorial staff members.
  • Responsible for managing disciplines and performance; coordinating with HR for assistance when necessary.
  • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience is required working in a janitorial commercial cleaning services industry,
  • Prior floor experience preferred.
  • Previous experience managing a janitorial team through motivation, coaching and development.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • The ability to anticipate customer needs, change goals and direction quickly and multitask. Proven experience supervising housekeeping departments of 15+ employees.
  • Ability to maintain a budget.
  • Ability to sell additional services to clients.
  • Capable of using independent judgment/solid decision-making skills ability.
  • Proven comfort and experience to interact effectively with all levels of management, guests, associates, and clientele, both inside and outside of the organization.
  • Activator/self-motivated to accomplish goals, with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Floor work experience is a plus
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) a plus
  • Proficiency with general office PC applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication and attention to detail.
  • Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs independently and ability to bend.
  • Extensive standing and walking
