Job summary

A professional cleaning service in Carol Stream is seeking a floater position which entails performing various cleaning duties across facilities as needed. This role involves standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Candidates are encouraged to have a positive attitude, flexibility, and the willingness to learn. The starting pay is $16.00/hour with a $200 hiring bonus. Previous cleaning experience is preferred but not mandatory. A driver's license and availability from 5:00 PM to 2:30 AM are required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience as a custodian, janitor, or housekeeper a plus but not required.
• Speak, read, and write the English language.
• Must have own vehicle with valid driver's license, insurance, and registration.

• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Open and lock facilities, enable and disable security system as required.

Job Position Description

This position is responsible for creating cleaner, healthier environments for our customers, their students, and grounds by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.

• Perform all cleaning duties for facilities using provided ServiceMaster products, tools, and procedures
• Sweeping, mopping, polishing, trash removal, restroom cleaning, windows, dusting
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Use proper PPE where required
• Open and lock facilities, enable and disable security system as required

Physical Demands and Qualifications

• Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, kneeling, twisting, reaching
• Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses
• 1–2 years’ experience as a custodian, janitor, or housekeeper a plus but not required
• Will provide on the job training to those with strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• The ability to be flexible and work at a fast pace in a multi‑tasked job is a must.

Floater Position Details

ServiceMaster PBM of Lincoln is looking for a couple of great candidates to add to our night‑time staff. We are currently hiring for a “floater” position; this person is responsible for filling in where there are call‑offs, vacations, open buildings, etc. You will have a new assignment every night (roughly 8 hours per night). Previous cleaning experience is a plus but not required. We will train the right candidate on the areas needing to be serviced as well as duties required to fulfill the position. This position’s starting pay is $16.00/hr. with a $200 hiring bonus offered. This is a great opportunity for a career change!

For the Floater position you need to have:

• Speak, read, and write the English language.
• Have your own vehicle (valid driver's license, insurance, and registration)
• Be able to pass multiple background checks.
• 7‑day availability from at least 5:00 pm–2:30 am (work is primarily 8 hours Monday‑Friday, however overtime from time to time is mandatory)
