Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, lunchrooms, meeting rooms, and other common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect floors and surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling; dispose of waste properly.
• Restock restroom and breakroom supplies; replenish paper products and soap.
• Clean windows, doors, and interior glass surfaces as needed.
• Maintain clean entrances, walkways, and common areas.
• Assist with meeting room setup and cleanup for events.
• Report safety concerns or damaged equipment to supervision.

Position Summary

The Janitorial Custodian is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and sanitary facilities across the Blue Moon Metals project site. This position performs routine cleaning, sanitation, and light facility support to ensure offices, shops, lunchrooms, restrooms, and common areas provide a safe and welcoming environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.

The successful candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness while supporting Blue Moon Metals' safety-first culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, lunchrooms, meeting rooms, and other common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect floors, furniture, fixtures, and high-touch surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste in designated areas.
• Restock restroom and breakroom supplies, including paper products, soap, and cleaning materials.
• Clean windows, doors, and interior glass surfaces as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized entrances, walkways, and common areas.
• Assist with meeting room setup and cleanup for training sessions and company events.
• Notify supervisors of maintenance needs, safety concerns, or damaged equipment.
• Support housekeeping efforts in shops, warehouses, and other operational facilities as assigned.
• Follow all Blue Moon Metals safety policies and procedures.
• Safely use cleaning products, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain proper storage and handling of cleaning supplies and chemicals.
• Report unsafe conditions, spills, or hazards promptly.
• Promote a clean and organized workplace that supports safe operations.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or facility cleaning experience preferred.
• Experience in industrial, mining, construction, or commercial environments is an asset but not required.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a professional work environment.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when supporting site facilities.
• Ability to safely wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers or carpet cleaners.
• First Aid/CPR Certification (or ability to obtain).
