Job summary

Paragon Building Maintenance, Inc. is seeking a Critical Environment Technician to maintain cleanroom areas in a controlled environment in San Jose, CA. The role emphasizes keeping spaces free of contamination, following SOPs, and safety protocols.

• Cleanroom experience preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Open availability: overtime work and schedule adjustments may be needed/necessary. Holiday work may also be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean and orderly cleanroom areas per SOPs and documentation.
• Follow client’s cleanroom SOPs and documentation.
• Perform cleaning methods such as vacuuming, trash removal, surface/equipment cleaning, and mopping within structured time frames.
• Demonstrate proper cleanroom behavior and willingness to learn new techniques.
• Perform End of Shift Inspections (EOS) following company guidelines and ensure safety standards are met.

Job description

General Responsibilities

The Critical Environment Technician is responsible for keeping assigned cleanroom areas in a clean and orderly condition and free of visible contamination. The ideal candidate will be flexible, responsible, highly motivated, and able to multi-task.

Specific Duties / Essential Functions

• Works in controlled environments where strict rules and procedures must be followed to prevent contamination.
• Wear specific cleanroom garments while working for safety purposes.
• Follows and executes client’s cleanroom SOPs and documentation.
• Performs proper cleaning methods such as vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning all work surfaces/equipment, mopping of walls, ceilings, and floors within a structured time frame.
• Willingness to learn new concepts to understand cleanroom techniques and demonstrate proper cleanroom behavior fully always.
• Perform End of Shift Inspections (EOS) following company guidelines, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met at the end of each shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Rate

$23 per hour

Skills & Experience

• Cleanroom experience is preferred, but not required.
• High school or equivalent is preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Physically able to be on your feet during an entire shift; walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and crouching.
• Must be able to lift 35 lb, carry 12 lbs backpack vacuum as needed.

Work Environment

Clean rooms, controlled environments and technical rooms that typically have positive pressure, are HEPA filtered, adhere to a clean working environment, and have specific ways to enter and exit the assigned work area. Gowns must be worn for the protection of the room and products. Temperatures are cooler than a normal office building with controlled humidity.
