Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Cleans buildings by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming floors following chemical safety procedures.
• Dusts furniture, walls, light fixtures.
• Removes stains from surfaces using cleaning solutions.
• Prepares cleaning solutions and mixes water with detergents or acids per specifications.
• Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas and applies spot cleaning.
• Gathers and empties trash.
• Wipes tabletops and chairs; cleans and polishes furniture.
• Maintains restrooms, cleans glass doors.
• Keeps janitor's closet neat; maintains equipment.
• Requisitions supplies and equipment as needed.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

• Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• dusts furniture, walls, light fixtures.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• Mixes water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications
• Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including application of spot cleaning treatment
• Gathers and empties trash
• Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs
• Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures
• Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms
• Cleans glass doors
• Must keep janitor’s closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order
• Requisitions supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previousexperience in janitorial, custodial, or general cleaning roles is a plus
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety standards
