Job summary

SpartanNash in Fenton, Michigan is seeking a dedicated store cleaner to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming common areas for customers and associates. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods, with responsibilities including dusting shelves, cleaning bathrooms, sanitizing carts, and snow removal as needed.

You will follow PPE and safety guidelines, support bottle room maintenance, and perform tasks across departments to support guest experience and store

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
• Good verbal communication skills to interact politely with customers.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Represents typical retail store environment and PPE/safety guidelines must be followed.

Responsibilities

• Dust shelves and fixtures; clean windows; sweep/vacuum as needed.
• Assist in bottle room maintenance; empty full bins; return bins.
• Clean bathrooms daily; sweep and mop floors; sanitize sinks and toilets; replenish supplies.
• Sanitize shopping carts; maintain cart return area; return items to shelves.
• Sweep sidewalks; remove ice/snow as needed; manage debris.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely; empty trash as needed.
• Follow PPE and safety guidelines; comply with Food Safety and Guest Experience standards.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments as needed.
