Job summary

SpartanNash in Elkhart, IN is seeking a dedicated store cleaning associate to maintain clean, safe common areas for customers and associates. You will dust, mop, sanitize and prep restrooms, carts and fixtures while following safety and food safety guidelines.

Reliable, with good communication and basic math, reading skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. This role supports a welcoming shopping environment and may involve outdoor work in cold weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Good verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Detail oriented with basic reading, writing and arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Dust shelves and fixtures, clean windows, sweep/vacuum as needed.
• Assist in bottle room machine maintenance, empty full bins, return bins.
• Clean bathrooms daily; sweep and mop floors, sanitize sinks and toilets, refill paper toiletries.
• Sanitize shopping carts; maintain cart return area and return items to shelves.
• Sweep sidewalks; ice/snow removal during colder temperatures as needed.
• Follow PPE and safety guidelines; adhere to food safety and cleaning expectations.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments as needed.
