Job Overview

Under direction of the Lead Custodian, the incumbent will provide support for the daily custodial maintenance and operation of all facilities at Naval Base Point Loma. Incumbent will perform a full range of custodial duties related to the care, maintenance and cleaning of all assigned buildings and facilities. Keeps Lead/Manager apprised of unique situations and problems encountered.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 5:00am - 1:30pm

Pay Rate: $24.81/hourly

Work Model: Onsite

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

• Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, stripping, waxing and polishing floors.
• Removing chips, trash, and other refuse
• Dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures.
• Polishing metal fixtures or trimmings.
• Providing supplies and minor maintenance services.
• Cleaning lavatories, showers, restrooms, windows, and air vents.
• Responsible for timely reporting of accidents, injuries, and hazardous situations
• Perform all other work-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

• General knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Must have excellent organizational skills.
• Mature judgment and ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Be a U.S. Citizen or legal residency alien.
• Valid state driver’s license with excellent driving record (must provide current driving record).
• Must be able to pass background investigation and drug screen.

Preferred:

• At least 2 years Janitorial experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
