Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Temporary Groundskeeper in Chicago, IL. The position focuses on outdoor rounds, trash removal, landscaping tasks, and event support to maintain clean and safe facilities.

The role offers a Monday–Friday, 6:00am–3:00pm schedule with pay of $21.65 per hour and on-the-job training. A minimum of 6 months groundskeeping experience and a valid driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow written and oral directions
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a Groundskeeping type position
• Must have a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Outside rounds: remove and replace garbage liners, sweep entrances, dust flat surfaces, pick up trash, remove snow/ice, apply Ice Melt, assist with snow removal and grounds maintenance.
• Special collection rounds and assistance for the special events
• Building rounds: reset furniture, empty waste containers, ensure cleanliness, clean surfaces and restrooms, report issues as needed
• Report problems such as lights out, broken fixtures, graffiti, or wet floors

DePaul Universal is hiring for Temporary Groundskeeper

Wage is $21.65 / hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 3:00pm

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Outside rounds: remove and replace garbage liners, sweep all entrances for cigarettes and any excessive leaves from building entrances, dusting flat surfaces, pick up all large items of trash, remove any snow/ice, apply Ice Melt, pull weeds as seen while performing rounds, operating snow equipment Bobcat and or truck with plow, top dressing campus, watering plant materials.
• Special collection rounds and assistance for the special events
• Building rounds: reset any displaced furniture, empty and clean all waste container, police for loose trash on all floors/hallways, remove any standing water as needed, clean tabletops and countertops, glass cleaning, dusting flat surfaces, washroom check, refill paper and hand soap product, clean mirrors and bowls, dust mop, vacuum carpeted areas
• Report any encountered problems such as light out, elevator down, broken fixtures, graffiti, fan/wet floor sign placement on wet/snow days.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to follow written and oral directions
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a Groundskeeping type position.
• Must have a valid driver's license

Benefits

• Eight paid holidays annually
• IL Sick days: 1 hour per 40 hours worked, up to an annual maximum of 40 hours
• Vacation time offered at an accrual rate of 1.54 weekly. Unused vacation is only paid out where required by law.
