PT Janitor Positions at Fort Indiantown Gap

Primary Duties
  • Maintain building interior by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures; washing windows, counters, walls, ceilings, and woodwork; sweeping, scrubbing, and waxing floors; cleaning and vacuuming drapes, furniture, and carpeting including carpet scrubbing.
  • Resupply rest rooms and replace light bulbs.
  • Maintain building accessibility and appearance by picking up papers and trash; replacing light bulbs.
  • Remove trash by emptying trash containers, transporting materials to disposal area, and collecting recycling materials.
  • Keep cleaning equipment operational by following manufacturer's operating and care guidelines; completing operator repairs and parts replacement.
  • Maintain parts and equipment inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed parts and cleaning equipment replacement, and placing orders.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred.
  • Experience: At least one (1) year custodial experience preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to understand and follow direction; knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them; good oral/verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand; bend and stoop; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to kneel and sit. The employee may regularly lift or move products and supplies, up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
