Job summary

Gulfport Sportsplex is hiring a part-time Janitor to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming spaces across offices, meeting rooms and public areas. You will perform routine cleaning, assist with special projects, and respond to cleaning requests with prompt, courteous service.

Ideal candidates bring basic housekeeping experience, ability to follow directions, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Housekeeping/janitorial/porter experience preferred.
• High school diploma/GED required or working towards it.
• Willingness to work a variety of shifts.
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision.
• Capacity to take direction and follow through.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, evenings, nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide information and wayfinding as needed.
• Provide courteous and friendly first-in-class service to all guests.
• Performs general clean-up of all areas of the building as directed.
• Monitors for spills throughout the facility and cleans as needed.
• Cleans all floor surfaces and glass in facility.
• Cleans and maintains all bathrooms (toilets, sinks, floors, restock supplies, etc.).
• Cleans all guest seating and lobby area.
• Facility trash & recycling removal.
• Complete special projects, daily assignments and other duties as directed by management.
• Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests and provide answers and directions as needed.
• Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders.
• Remove garbage and recycling daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up.
• Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests.

Position Summary

The ideal candidates for this position are detail-oriented, flexible and willing to take on on-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises. The candidate is expected to provide excellent customer service to all visitors and always displays a vast amount of knowledge of the facility's programs and offerings. Team member will be responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of office spaces, meeting rooms, bathrooms, and public areas.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

Physical Demands

• Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds as necessary

• Ability to navigate around the facility for long periods of time
• Will be required to operate a computer
• Facility has intermittent noise
