Job summary

TouchPoint is hiring immediately for full-time and part-time JANITOR positions at UAB St Vincent's Birmingham, AL. Shifts run 6:00 am–2:30 pm, 7:00 pm–3:30 am, 3:00 pm–11:30 pm, and 10:00 pm–6:30 am with rotating weekends.

Willing to train; compensation ranges from $14.00 to $16.00 per hour. As part of Compass Healthcare, TouchPoint serves patients, families, and visitors with meals, facilities, and patient support.

Qualifications

• Willing to train for janitorial duties.

Responsibilities

• Keeps buildings clean and orderly; performs heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.
• Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dusts and damp mops floors; moves equipment and furniture for cleaning and places them back in correct placement.
• Cleans assigned areas with appropriate materials and equipment; sanitizes surfaces; follows eight-step cleaning procedure.
• Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Seeks out areas requiring cleaning and completes tasks; adheres to all federal, state and county guidelines.
• Strips, scrubs, buffs and refinishes floors; shampoos carpet.
• Contributes to the team; maintains professionalism with customers and coworkers.

• Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.

• Seeks out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.

• Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.

• Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.

• Strips, scrubs, buffs and refinishes floors; shampoos carpet.

• Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
