Job Description: Janitor

SSC is hiring immediately for full-time Janitor positions at Westfield Washington Schools, located at 18250 North Union Street, Westfield, IN 46074. Openings at other locations within the school district are also available. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule: Full-time, with days varying from 3:30 pm to 12:00 am. Flexibility for full and part-time schedules to meet most needs.

Requirements: Willing to train!

Pay Rate: $16.37 per hour.

Job Summary

Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of buildings by performing heavy cleaning duties such as floor cleaning, rug shampooing, wall and glass washing, and rubbish removal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dusts and mops floors, moves equipment and furniture for cleaning, and restores furniture to proper placement.
• Cleans assigned areas using appropriate materials and equipment, sanitizes surfaces, and follows the eight-step cleaning procedure.
• Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Identifies areas needing cleaning and proactively completes tasks.
• Follows all federal, state, and county guidelines in performing duties.
• Strips, scrubs, buffs, and refinishes floors; shampoos carpets.
• Contributes to team efforts and maintains professionalism with customers and colleagues.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
