Job summary

Diversified Maintenance is seeking a Janitor to perform all-purpose cleaning and preservation of assigned areas inside client sites. The position pays $15 per hour and requires flexibility as duties vary by client specifications.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (or 6 months janitorial experience). On-the-job training is provided; attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions are essential. Prior cleaning experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean all floor surfaces (sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming).
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to avoid damage.
• Clean, monitor, and maintain restrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, and entrance areas.
• Empty trash and manage waste disposal; use of compactors when needed.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors with appropriate cleaners.
• Spot-clean carpets; assist in carpet extractions and shampooing.
• Replenish paper products and sanitary supplies.
• Follow housekeeping schedule.
• Occasionally operate heavy cleaning equipment (floor scrubbers, backpacks, buffers).
• Perform other duties as assigned by the scope of work or client needs.

Job Description

Diversified Maintenance is hiring a Janitor. The Janitor position is responsible for performing all-purpose cleaning and preservation of assigned area inside a particular building or multiple client sites. Exact tasks of janitorial crew are not definite, consequently, must be flexible in performing assigned duties per client’s specifications.

$15 / hour

Monday-Sunday 6A-11A

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain and clean all floor surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and other objects
• Clean, monitor and maintain restrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, and entrance areas

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a minimum of six (6) months of experience in a janitorial type position
• On the job training will be provided
• Attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions effectively

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

• Prior cleaning or janitorial experience
• Familiarity with custodial practices and commercial cleaning standards
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and waxing
• Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance
