Job summary

SSC Services For Education is seeking a full-time janitorial associate at Murray State University in Murray, KY. You will perform heavy cleaning duties, trash disposal, dusting, mopping, washing walls and glass, and sanitation to maintain a safe environment for students and staff. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00 pm–12:30 am, with rotating weekends.

Prior janitorial experience is preferred. Pay: $12.00–$12.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in janitorial tasks preferred.
• Ability to follow established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
• Willingness to work evening shifts and rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Collect trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dust and damp mop floors as instructed.
• Move and arrange furniture for cleaning and return to correct placement.
• Sanitize surfaces and follow the eight-step cleaning procedure.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items for a clean environment.
• Identify areas needing cleaning and complete tasks promptly.
• Follow all federal, state and county guidelines in duties.
• Strip, scrub, buff and refinish floors; shampoo carpets.

Job Summary

Keeps buildings clean and orderly. Performs heavy cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dusts and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
• Moves equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placement.
• Cleans assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment. Sanitize all surfaces. Follows the eight-step cleaning procedure.
• Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Seeks out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.
• Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
• Strips, scrubs, buffs and refinishes floors; shampoos carpet.
• Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Location and Working Conditions

Location: Murray State University - 615 Gilbert Graves Drive, Murry, KY 42071. (Openings at other locations within school district available) Note: online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Full time schedule; Monday through Friday, 4:00 pm to 12:30 am, with possibility for rotating weekends. More details upon interview. (Full and Part Time with the flexibility to meet most scheduling needs)

Requirement: Prior janitorial experience is preferred.

Pay Range: $12.00 per hour to $12.50 per hour.
