Job summary

Compass Group USA’s ESFM division has an opening for a full-time Janitor in Jacksonville, FL. The role supports cleaning and sanitation across facilities, with a schedule of Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm.

Responsibilities include trash removal, surface cleaning, restroom/breakroom cleaning, and basic floor care. Compensation ranges from $15.00 to $16.00 per hour, with standard benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Trash removal and surface cleaning experience.
• Restroom and breakroom cleaning.
• Basic floor care knowledge and ability to operate cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of trash following procedures and infection control plans.
• Dust and damp mop floors following procedures.
• Move equipment and furniture for cleaning and place back in correct position.
• Clean assigned areas with cleaning materials and sanitize all surfaces.
• Washes walls, windows and furnishings to maintain a clean environment.
• Follow eight-step cleaning procedure and comply with guidelines.
• Strips, scrubs, buffs and refinishes floors; shampoo carpets.
• Complete tasks as assigned by supervisor and adhere to safety rules.

Job Summary

Summary: Keeps buildings clean and orderly. Performs heavy cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dusts and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
• Moves equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placement.
• Cleans assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment. Sanitize all surfaces. Follows the eight-step cleaning procedure.
• Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Seeks out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.
• Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
• Strips, scrubs, buffs and refinishes floors; shampoos carpet.
• Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
