Job summary

Jacintoport International LLC is seeking a reliable janitorial associate responsible for daily terminal cleaning and upkeep. The role requires basic English, teamwork, and the ability to work long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months cleaning/janitorial experience.
• Read, write and speak basic English.
• Able to work long hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Able to function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Able to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning in the main office building and the 2-story building.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean restrooms and breakrooms.
• Restock toilets and paper towel dispensers; take out trash.
• Organize, restock, and clean kitchen areas and coffee machines; weekly inventories.
• Follow operation and safety guidelines at all times.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Must have a minimum one (6) months of experience in cleaning/janitorial in general
• Must have the ability to read, write, and speak Basic English

• Must have the ability to function effectively in a fast paced, team oriented work environment
• Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative
• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees
• Must have the ability to think logically, follow procedures, instructions and make sound decisions

• Must be able to work (flexible hours) long hours including nights, overtime, weekends and holidays

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary

• Perform all functions in accordance with operation and safety guidelines
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the main office building
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the 2-story building
• Clean out restrooms throughout the terminal and all breakrooms
• Restock / refill the toilet and paper towel dispenser throughout the facility
• Take out the trash from the main office building, 2-story building and outdoor restrooms throughout the terminal
• Organize, restock, and clean all kitchen areas and coffee machines
• Turn in supply inventory to the Purchasing Coordinator, once a week
• Maintain a clean work area, free of debris or safety hazards and awareness of surroundings (i.e. vehicles, people, equipment, etc.) at all times

Secondary

• Clean the Mechanic shop break room
• Clean out the 13 Office Containers outside
• Perform other related tasks as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Subject to physical and/or DOT Screening is required along with other tests as applicable
• The employee is frequently required to reach forward, exercise repetitive foot and wrist motion and finger dexterity
• The employee is frequently required to communicate and hear
• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, bend-forward, squat, twist, reach overhead, grasp and pinch
• The employee is regularly required to use their fingers
• The employee is occasionally required to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 20 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives direct supervision from the Inventory Control Supervisor and does not exercise supervision over any other position.

CONDITIONS

• Work in an indoor/ outdoor environment that will range from hot and humid to cold, windy, and rainy
• The employee is continuously exposed to dust, fumes, and airborne particles
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high
