Job summary

The Toro Company is seeking a day shift janitor to maintain cleanliness of our facilities, including restrooms, floors, and windows. You will move and set up tables and chairs for events, deliver supplies, and support various cleanup tasks.

Requirements include a current Vehicle Operators License, potential forklift certification, and ability to lift up to 60 pounds. The role is on-site with a strong emphasis on reliability, teamwork, and safety.

Qualifications

• Has a current Vehicle Operators License and can obtain forklift certification.
• Possesses basic mechanical skills for facility tasks.

• Demonstrates exemplary work record with reliability and teamwork.
• Can stand and work up to 10 hours daily.
• Janitorial and forklift experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, buff, strip, and wax floors.
• Run errands in company vehicles to support operations.
• Assist with administrative and facilities tasks as needed.
• Deliver supplies and food to designated areas.
• Move furniture and equipment for events or setup.
• Clean restrooms, shelves, stairs, windows, and surfaces.
• Stock shelves with supplies and manage waste disposal.
• Operate carts and maintain safety and quality standards.

Day Shift, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM, Monday-Friday

Typical starting pay, $15.22/hr.-$17.00/hr.

Janitor at Ditch Witch:

This employee performs housekeeping duties forour facilities, including cleaning restrooms, floors, and windows. He or she also collects and disposes of trash, moves and sets up tables and chairs for company functions, may serve food for breaks, and performs other duties assigned.

What Will You Do?

• Sweep, mop, buff, strip, and wax floors.
• Run errands in company vehicles.
• Be accountable with money.
• Adapt to change when needed.
• Deliver supplies and food to designated areas.
• Move furniture, including tables, chairs, desks, file cabinets, plants, etc.
• Clean shelves, stairs, windows, etc.
• Stock shelves with supplies.
• Clean restrooms: sweep, mop, clean toilets, urinals, walls, etc.
• Empty trash cans and trash dumpsters.
• Drive carts.
• Maintain quality and safety while being productive.
• Work in other areas as needed.

What Will You Need?

• Have a current Vehicle Operators License, and be able to achieve forklift certification.
• Have appropriate basic mechanical skills.
• Able to handle items weighing up to 60 pounds including pushing, pulling, and positioning items.
• Have an exemplary work record, strong teamwork attitude, self-motivation, high productivity, reliable attendance, attention to quality and detail, ability and desire to learn new skills, and a cordial, cooperative personality.
• Have the ability to work on your feet (standing & walking) up to 10 hours a day
• Janitorial and forklift experience would be preferred.

Work Environment:

• Office conditions, manufacturing plant conditions, and outside conditions at any given time. Variable temperatures, humidity, noise, and dirt.
• Physical hazards such as powered vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, and material handling.
• Climbing using ladders & step stools, and standing & walking on concrete floors.
• Working with hazardous materials, including cleaners, floor strippers, and floor wax.
• A variable work schedule (ranging from 8-12 hours daily with overtime paid after 40 hours per week) and some scheduled work on Saturdays.
