Job summary

Diversified Maintenance is seeking a Janitor to perform all-purpose cleaning and upkeep of assigned areas within client sites. The role requires flexibility to adapt to different client specifications and responsibilities include floor care, restroom upkeep, and general site cleanliness.

Compensation starts at $12 per hour with a typical schedule of Monday through Sunday from 6am to 11am, totaling about 35 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent or 6+ months janitorial experience.
• On-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean all floor surfaces by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
• Clean restrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, and entrances.
• Empty trash and manage waste disposal.
• Clean windows and glass surfaces.
• Spot-clean carpets and assist in carpet care.
• Replenish paper products and supplies.
• Follow the housekeeping schedule.
• Operate heavy cleaning equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties as required by the scope of work or customer needs.

Job Description

Diversified Maintenance is hiring a Janitor. The Janitor position is responsible for performing all-purpose cleaning and preservation of assigned area inside a particular building or multiple client sites. Exact tasks of janitorial crew are not definite, consequently, must be flexible in performing assigned duties per client’s specifications.

$12 / hr

Mon-Sun 6a-11a 35 hrs

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain and clean all floor surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and other objects
• Clean, monitor and maintain restrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, and entrance areas
• Empty trash cans for proper disposal; use of compactor for certain materials
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners and equipment
• Spot clean carpets; assist in carpet extractions and shampooing
• Replenish paper products and sanitary supplies
• Follow housekeeping schedule
• Occasionally use heavy cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers
• Other duties as assigned, as required by the scope of work or customer needs

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a minimum of six (6) months of experience in a janitorial type position
• On the job training will be provided
• Attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions effectively

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

• Prior cleaning or janitorial experience
• Familiarity with custodial practices and commercial cleaning standards
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and waxing
• Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance
