Perdue Foods in Virginia is seeking a Janitorial Associate to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming workplace. You will sweep, disinfect restrooms, stock supplies, and support sanitation standards while adhering to safety procedures.

The role operates on a third shift, Monday–Friday 11:00 pm to 7:00 am with weekend work as needed. The base pay is $17.50 per hour, with pay premiums, overtime opportunities, and an annual bonus along with a comprehensive benefits package.

• Minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field.
• High School or equivalent is beneficial but not required.
• Previous experience in commercial cleaning preferred.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain cleanliness and order in various areas of the facility.
• Sweep, clean and mop floors in common areas and high-traffic zones.
• Disinfect restrooms, mirrors, fixtures, and partitions.
• Empty trash and replace liners daily.
• Clean breakrooms and offices; wipe down surfaces.
• Stock and maintain supply rooms; manage janitorial supplies and storage.
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
• Report major repairs to management and follow PPE safety rules.

Summary

This position has a base rate of $17.50 per hour, with opportunities for pay premiums, shift differentials and overtime where applicable. Annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Schedule

Monday through Friday 11:00 pm- 7:00 am with weekend work (Saturday and/or Sunday) as required based on department schedules and production needs. Third Shift

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various areas.
• Sweep, clean and mop the floors in the common areas of the facility and in areas with high foot traffic.
• Thoroughly clean and disinfect restrooms, including mirrors, fixtures, and partitions.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners in all areas daily.
• Clean breakrooms and office areas, including tables, sinks, and floors.
• Wipe down microwaves, refrigerators and high-touch surfaces.
• Stock and maintain supply rooms.
• Maintain janitorial supplies and ensure proper storage.
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
• Report to management when major repairs are needed.
• Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management related matters.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Participate in Company and department safety programs.

Minimum Education And Experience

• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills to interact with facility managers and staff.

Physical Requirements And Environmental Factors

When in a plant environment:

• Ability to tolerate exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
• Ability to stand for an extended period and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. by reaching, bending, and pushing.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, bump cap and ear protection as required.
• May work in an environment with varying temperatures between 28 degrees and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
• May handle products varying in temperatures between 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
• May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
• May be exposed to dust, and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
• Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
