Job summary

HII Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking an industrial cleaner for janitorial duties across restrooms and office spaces on the 1st shift. Responsibilities include emptying trash, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, stripping and waxing tile floors, sweeping and mopping, stocking supplies, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb stairs is required. This role requires US citizenship and does not offer relocation or telework.

The Role

Industrial cleaning of restrooms and office areas. The selected candidate will empty trash cans, vacuum and shampoo carpet, strip and wax tile floors, sweep and mop restroom floors, clean restrooms after overflows, stock and store janitorial supplies, and sweep stairways. Qualified candidates must be able to lift 50 lbs., push and pull equipment, bend, kneel, lift, and navigate steps.

Must be able to work assigned shift as production needs.

Nice to Have

Previous Janitor experience is highly desired.
