Job summary

Mac Fasteners Inc. is seeking an on-site Janitor to maintain a clean, safe environment across three buildings in Ottawa, Kansas. The role requires independent work, adherence to cleaning schedules, and alignment with safety policies.

Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, breakrooms, offices, and production areas, handling spills, and restocking supplies. This is a full-time, hourly position based on-site five days per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; minimum 1 year in an office environment.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
• Basic math and computer skills; familiarity with file management.
• On-site 5 days a week at Ottawa, KS location.

Responsibilities

• Remove trash and keep restrooms, offices, and breakrooms clean daily.
• Clean and stock 8 restrooms daily; replace supplies.
• Clean and sanitize 5 kitchenette/breakrooms daily.
• Empty and relinetrash cans and recycling in all buildings.
• Clean high-touch surfaces and breakroom tables.
• Sweep exterior entrances, walkways, loading docks, and production areas.
• Respond to spills promptly and place caution signage.
• Restock hand sanitizer stations as needed.
• On-site presence required 5 days a week at Ottawa, KS location.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The Full-Time Janitor isresponsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across allthree buildings of the facility, including office areas, restrooms,breakrooms/kitchenettes, manufacturing/production spaces, and exterior facilityareas. This role requires the ability to work independently, follow establishedcleaning schedules, and adapt cleaning activities around ongoing productionoperations while adhering to all company safety policies.

Essential Duties Responsibilities and Competencies:

Daily Duties

• Remove trash from restrooms, offices, and breakrooms daily.
• Clean and stock all 8 restrooms daily (clean sinks, mirrors, and toilets; replace toilet paper and paper towels).
• Wipe down and clean all 5 kitchenettes/breakrooms daily (clean sink, counters, and microwave; restock paper towels).
• Empty and reline trash cans and recycling bins throughout all 3 buildings.
• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces (door handles, doors, light switches, handrails).
• Wipe down and sanitize breakroom tables and chairs.
• Sweep and clean exterior entrances, walkways, and loading dock areas.
• Sweep and clean production/shop floor areas.
• Clean up spills (water, oil, coolant, etc.) promptly and place appropriate caution signage.
• Dispose of manufacturing debris (scrap, packaging waste, shavings) in designated bins.
• Restock hand sanitizer stations throughout the facility as needed.

This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the Ottawa Kansaslocation.

Qualifications

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions,short correspondence, and memos. Abilityto write simple correspondence. Abilityto effectively communicate in one-on-one situations to employees.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract,multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commonfractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carryout instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involvingseveral concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

Basic operating system navigation and filemanagement.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree(GED). A minimum of one (1) yearsimilar experience or training in an office environment; or equivalentcombination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employeeis regularly required to sit; and talk or hear. The employee is frequentlyrequired to stand and walk.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is typical ofa machine shop.
