Job summary

Responsibilities

• Cleans floors, bathrooms, and work areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing.
• Inspects equipment for proper operation prior to use.
• Performs dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting, and trash removal as needed.
• Replenishes site supplies and organizes materials.
• Empties and decontaminates trash containers and handles infectious waste when assigned.
• Mixes cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary.
• Washes blinds, windows, and walls with prescribed solutions.
• Launders rags and mops from sites.
• Reports safety hazards to Supervisor and follows safety policies.

Positions Summary

Position is a Full-Time position. The Janitor cleans all working areas and washrooms, or premises of a building. The Duties involve a combination of the following: Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, removing trash, dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures. This position requires a valid driver's license. The general responsibilities of this position include those listed below, but the organization may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among job sites, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Cleans floors, bathrooms, working areas of buildings and other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing.
• Inspect all equipment for proper operations prior to using.
• Performs high and low dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting, spot cleaning, and trash removal as needed.
• Help organize site supplies by replenishing supplies as needed.
• Empties and decontaminate trash containers.
• Disposes of infectious waste when assigned.
• Mixes or blends routine cleaning solutions to proper concentration as necessary for various tasks.
• Washes blinds, windows, screens, sills and walls with prescribed solutions.
• Launder rags, mops, etc. from sites.
• Identifies, and reports any potential safety hazards to Supervisor.
• Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
• Adheres to Operations Security (OPSEC) standard operations procedures.
• Adheres to Property Control Plan for management of Government Furnished Property (GFP).
• Adheres to the safety and health program that complies with EM 385-1-1 and applicable OSHA, DOD, Armed Forces Branch(s), Federal, state, and local safety, environmental and health requirements.
• Maintain a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) in accordance with Appendix A, EM 385-1-1.
• Other tasks as directed by the Project Manager/Supervisor.
