Job summary

24 Hour Fitness Moraga is seeking a Club Janitor to maintain a healthy, clean, and orderly facility. You will perform a variety of tasks across locker rooms, cardio and weight areas, offices, and common spaces, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for members and staff.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, dusting, and restocking supplies; reporting maintenance needs; and assisting with special cleaning projects. High school diploma or GED required; bilingual English/Spanish helpful.

Qualifications

• Prior cleaning or janitor experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning practices and safety.
• Ability to understand and follow written instructions.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English and/or Spanish.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and members.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Empties trash and recycling containers as needed.
• Completes daily and weekly scope of work and reports issues.
• Performs minor repairs and coordinates with technicians as required.
• Uses cleaning chemicals safely and follows product labels.
• Adheres to dress code and attends required trainings.

Job Summary

The Club Janitor will support is in performing a variety of maintenance and cleaning tasks to keep the facility in a healthy, clean, and orderly standard. Duties require contact with club management, staff, and members.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and dusts walls, mirrors, countertops, glass, and windows
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums floor of all areas of club, including locker rooms, weight area, cardio, office space, hallways, stairs, etc.
• Cleans and dusts all weight and cardio equipment
• Restocks supplies
• Empties clubs' garbage and recycling containers
• Completes daily and weekly scope of work
• Performs special cleaning projects as assigned
• Cleans and maintains wet areas of the club, if applicable (cleaning pool deck, vacuuming pool, cleaning steam room and sauna and conducting regular pool chemical testing). Not all clubs have wet areas.
• Performs minor cosmetic repair on equipment (rust removal, re-labeling, etc.). Partners with Facility Technician to perform cleaning duties on equipment as outlined in preventative maintenance guide.
• Use all janitorial supplies in accordance to product labels and club manuals
• Adhere to authorized dress code
• Attend all required training sessions and meetings
• Report all facility maintenance issues to the General Manager or Facility Technician
• Report any member complaints to the General Manager
• Knowledge of department policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a similar cleaning or janitor role is preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning practices and procedures.
• Understand and follow written instructions.
• Effectively communicate (verbal and writing skills) in English and/or Spanish.
• Work independently in the absence of supervision.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of duties.
• Flexibility to work early morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Physical Demands / Environmental Conditions

• While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Telephone usage: ability to communicate with internal and external members.
• Required usage of cleaning chemicals, ladders, utensils and equipment.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Noise level in the environment is occasionally loud.

Compensation Summary

All Employees: Free Club Membership, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Basic Group Live and AD&D Insurance ($10,000), and 401(k) Savings and Investment Plan. Average 30 hours or more per week: Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits, Paid Time Off, and Sickness Benefits (in addition to the above). Actual offer may vary from posted hiring range based on location, work experience, and/or education. Pay Range: $18.03 – $18.03
