Job summary

UFC GYM in Hawaii seeks a diligent Janitor to uphold our premium standards by keeping all areas clean, safe, and well-maintained—from the Octagon to the locker rooms—so members can train with confidence.

You will clean, disinfect, and restock facilities, assist with light maintenance, manage waste, and support safety guidelines, while providing a positive member experience in a franchise location.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of janitorial or housekeeping experience.
• Ability to work quickly and independently with extreme attention to cleanliness.
• Excellent English communication, both verbal and written.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility cleanliness across locker rooms, gym floor, MMA areas, and common areas.
• Perform sanitation tasks, report leaks or equipment issues, and ensure safe chemical use.
• Provide positive member service and respond to requests promptly.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Cleanliness & Sanitation

• Locker Rooms: Clean and disinfect toilets, shower stalls, and changing areas regularly. Restock all paper goods and soap.
• Gym Floor: Wipe down exercise equipment, glass doors, and mirrors. Pick up debris and address spills immediately.
• MMA Areas: Thoroughly clean all specialized areas, including mats, the Octagon, and heavy bags.
• Floors: Sweep, vacuum, and mop all floors, stairwells, and staircases. Shampoo carpets as needed.

Maintenance & Safety

• Waste Management: Empty all trash receptacles daily and maintain designated storage areas in good condition.
• Reporting: Immediately notify management of leaks, malfunctioning fixtures, mold, or equipment issues.
• Safety First: Adhere to all safety rules and ensure the proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and materials.
• General Upkeep: Assist with general maintenance of the facility and equipment. Provide the Maintenance Technician with aid when needed to PM machines or perform minor repairs to the facility.

Member Service

• Positive Presence: Maintain a cheerful and helpful attitude toward all members and staff.
• Responsiveness: Respond to member requests quickly and report any complaints or concerns to management right away.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 6 months of experience in janitorial or housekeeping services. Background in the hospitality industry is highly recommended.
• Skills: Ability to work quickly and independently with extreme attention to detail regarding cleanliness.
• Communication: Able to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions in English.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Physical: Ability to stand for a full shift and exert up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally to move objects. Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
