Job summary

JSM Living in Champaign, Illinois, is seeking a full-time janitorial team member to maintain cleanliness across building interiors and exteriors. This role includes cleaning bathrooms, lobbies, hallways, and common areas, with occasional power washing and snow removal responsibilities.

The position requires reliability, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to interact professionally with residents, tenants, and vendors. Prior custodial experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain exterior cleanliness of buildings, including entrances, sidewalks, and parking areas.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of common areas (lobbies, hallways, stairwells, restrooms, laundry rooms, fitness areas, elevators).
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies, disinfect surfaces, and ensure overall cleanliness.
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles interior and exterior, disposing of waste properly.
• Assist with routine power washing at designated properties.
• Support company-wide snow removal efforts as needed.
• Keep accurate electronic records of time, labor, and materials for assigned projects.
• Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of company vehicles used for daily tasks.
• Work with other departments to support turnover-cleaning between tenants (unit clean-outs, touch-up cleaning).

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly starting rate - $19-$22 per hour
