Job summary

Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network is seeking a management-level professional to oversee the Regional Jail Diversion and SB 292 programs. The role includes supervising five staff, screening for mental illness, and providing on-site assessments with intervention plans.

The position requires expertise in crisis intervention, case management coordination, and ability to testify in court when needed. It emphasizes collaboration with legal entities and adherence to funding and contract

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in behavioral or social sciences, humanities, or education; master’s preferred.
• Experience in providing mental health services to justice-involved individuals preferred.
• Knowledge of jail standards and judicial processes essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff assigned to Regional Jail Diversion or SB 292 Program.
• Screen individuals in the legal system for mental illness and provide on-site assessments.
• Develop interventions and provide crisis support as needed.
• Coordinate referrals and case management; prepare progress notes and court reports.
• Advocate with legal entities and appear in court to support individuals.
