Job summary

KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In Reston, VA, this JADC2 Operations Subject Matter Expert role will shape joint, multi-domain battle management concepts and support mission planning and analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 14+ years of operational military experience as a U.S. Air Force ABM or equivalent.
• Direct experience with operational planning and developing CONOPS for Joint or Service Component Operational Planning.
• U.S. military Joint Qualified Officer (JQO) designation.
• Ability to work effectively in a small, high-performance team environment.
• Strong collaborative skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• TS/SCI Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Apply expert knowledge of BMC2 concepts to support mission-level MS&A activities.
• Develop BMC2 structures and CONOPS for modelers and SMEs in MS&A.
• Bridge traditional operational planning with novel analytical approaches.
• Evaluate kill chains and kill webs using joint, multi-domain capabilities.
• Collect, analyze, and curate authoritative military information for enterprise insight.
• Translate doctrine and procedures into actionable products for model and software teams.
• Deliver high-quality written, visual, and analytical deliverables for senior decision-makers.
• Lead small teams or tasks in support of the broader effort.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply your expert knowledge of current and emerging battle management command and control (BMC2) concepts, Air or Integrated Tasking Orders (ATO or ITO), and related doctrinal concepts to support mission-level MS&A activities.
• Develop BMC2 structures and concepts of operations (CONOPS) for use by modelers and other operational SMEs in the MS&A environment.
• Drive innovation by bridging traditional operational planning and novel analytical approaches through creative and critical thinking.
• Leverage your deep understanding of joint, multi-domain military capabilities, BMC2 concepts, and employment frameworks to evaluate the execution of kill chains and kill webs.
• Collect, analyze, and curate authoritative military information—including doctrine, planning materials, and capability documents—in a "smart" knowledge management environment that enables enterprise-wide insight and collaboration.
• Translate doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures into actionable products to inform model, behavior, and simulation software development.
• Deliver high-quality, high-impact written, visual, and analytical deliverables that inform senior decision-making.
• Lead small teams or tasks in support of the broader overall effort.

Work Environment

• Location: Reston, VA
• Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%, supporting strong work-life balance
• Working Hours: Standard

Qualifications (Required)

• Bachelor’s degree and 14+ years of operational military experience as a U.S. Air Force Air Battle Manager (ABM) or equivalent
• Direct experience with operational planning and developing concepts of operation and courses of action in support of Joint or Service Component Operational Planning efforts
• U.S. military Joint Qualified Officer (JQO) designation
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small, high-performance team environment
• Strong collaborative skills with experience working in expert-driven, multidisciplinary teams
• TS/SCI Clearance is required

Desired

• Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 16+ years of operational military experience as a U.S. Air Force Air Battle Manager (ABM) or equivalent
• Extensive experience planning at a combatant command or service component command
• Experience supporting analytical studies of military operations
• Experience with military exercises or wargames
• 2+ years of experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) techniques and tools

Basic Compensation

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Compensation for VA area is $170K-185,000K.

Additional Compensation

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
