Job summary

Milwaukee Tool in Jackson, Mississippi is seeking a Quality Technician 2 to inspect supplier parts and materials in the cell, following safety standards and applicable procedures. Responsibilities

  • Perform takt/cycle time work and follow work instructions.
  • Inspect components and conduct workplace audits with documented results.
  • Initiate corrective actions as required.
  • Set up and operate optical comparator to measure angles, lengths and radii.
  • Inspect heat treat and gears; interpret results to specification.
  • Enter NCRs and maintain gauge status records.
  • Maintain lab equipment calibration and liaison with gauge suppliers.
  • Adhere to safety requirements and practice 5S.

Your Role on Our Team:

The Quality Technician 2 is responsible for following procedures to inspect supplier's parts and materials in the cell utilizing safety standards as required.

You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:
  • Perform work within takt/cycle time (40%)
  • Perform work per work instructions (40%)
  • Inspection of component and workplace audit with documented results (40%)
  • Initiate corrective action as required (30%)
  • Setup and operate optical comparator to measure angles, lengths, center distances and radius (30%)
  • Heat treat and Gear inspection with the use of lab equipment and interpreting results to specification (30%)
  • Calculate vari-roll blocks and setup independently (30%)
  • Inspect all incoming material per quality instructions (30%)
  • Enter NCR in computer and control parts until disposition is determined (30%)
  • Maintain received files and records and update required records to show gauge status (30%)
  • Use of lab equipment for gauge calibration and disposition of obsolete and worn gauges (20%)
  • Using gauge calibration procedures, verify gauging used within cells (20%)
  • Work with gauge suppliers for best equipment for each application (20%)
  • Lab testing - audits (10%)
  • Adhere to all safety requirements in the work area (5%)
  • Practice 5Ss (5%)
