Job summary

Marmon Industrial Energy and Infrastructure in Mount Pleasant, TX is seeking a Jacket Operator to set up and run the final extrusion on jacketed product. You will produce quality results safely and efficiently while supporting a collaborative team.

You will read work orders, document deviations, and coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure specifications are met. Training and cross-training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Technical training preferred.
• Licenses or certifications are not required for this position.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting with responsibilities in extrusion is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and Run the Jacketing extrusion
• Read and understand work orders
• Document deviations
• Reprocess nonconforming product
• Set up and Shut Down the jet printer for the jacketing extrusion
• Ensure the proper handling of short footage's for the jacketing extrusion
• Understand the procedures for handling Corrective and Preventive Actions.
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance department to ensure that the product meets the specifications
• Monitor the shelf life of the marking inks/thinners and follow procedures for proper identification
• Follow procedures for the calibration and maintenance of the Target System optical measuring devices.
• Clean and maintain all tooling associated with the Jacket line equipment
• Keep work area clean and organized
• Recommend process improvements
• Work as a team with other Jacket Operators and other Dekoron employees
• Ability to distinguish between different colors of product
• Promote safety in all processes and activities
• Assists with training of new employees; assists with cross-training of current employees
• Perform other duties as assigned.

General Position Summary

The Jacket Operator is responsible for setting up and running the final extrusion on assembled product. The Jacket Operator is also responsible for producing a quality product in a safe and efficient manner while promoting a team atmosphere. Help problem solve and proactively seek ways to improve the Jacketing process and maintain all equipment in the Jacket work center.

Essential Duties

• Strive to achieve continuous improvement in all activities, processes, and with all projects at Dekoron.


• Set-up and Run the Jacketing extrusion


• Set-up and Run for different products types for different customer specifications


• Understand instructions for Handling of Packets with Rejects


• Read and understand work orders


• Document deviations


• Reprocess nonconforming product


• Set-up and Shut Down the jet printer for the jacketing extrusion


• Ensure the proper handling of short footage's for the jacketing extrusion


• Understand the procedures for handling Corrective and Preventive Actions.

Education and Experience Preferred
