Job summary

K2 Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman J37 SOF Joint Training and Exercise Designer and Planner to conduct scenario-based exercise design, planning, scripting, and execution for CJCS and other nominated joint exercises in support of SOCCENT at MacDill AFB, Florida.

The role requires active TS/SCI clearance and extensive joint exercise experience. The designer will manage CPX/TTX/FTX planning, coordinate with interagency partners, and lead major exercise efforts across 18–24 month planning

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Applied Statistics, Operations Research, or Systems Analysis is required.
• JPME Level I or Service equivalent is preferred.
• At least 3 years of strategic and operational planning and analysis or 5 years of SOF operational experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Serve as exercise planner and designer for CPX, TTX, and FTX.
• Lead planning for joint readiness exercises and evaluate design across the JELC.
• Coordinate and represent J37 in meetings and budget forecasting for exercises.
• Plan and conduct government/interagency exercise events and workshops 2–6 times annually.

J37 SOF Joint Training and Exercise Designer and Planner (Journeyman)

Job Purpose / Summary

Conduct scenario-based exercise design, planning, scripting, and execution for CJCS and other nominated joint exercises in support of SOCCENT in CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as exercise planner and designer for SOF command post exercises (CPX), tabletop exercises (TTX), and field training exercises (FTX).
• Design, plan, and execute joint and combined training and exercise assessments to improve joint readiness and interoperability; lead planning for command readiness exercises.
• Analyze and develop joint training and exercise objectives per current joint doctrine; evaluate exercise design throughout the joint exercise life cycle (JELC).
• Serve as primary planner for one exercise and alternate for at least one additional exercise through overlapping 18–24-month planning cycles.
• Coordinate and represent J37 in exercise-related meetings, conferences, and VTCs; manage Exercise Control Group (ECG) requirements; forecast and annotate budgetary requirements.
• Plan and conduct government/interagency exercise technical events and workshops (typically 2–6 annually, 25–30 attendees); manage inputs into the Joint Training Tool (JTT) or successor system.
• Sign for and maintain accountability of government equipment/property; safeguard and secure equipment and materials.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education and experience: BA/BS in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Applied Statistics, Operations Research, or Systems Analysis; Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Level I or Service equivalent; at least 3 years of strategic and operational planning and analysis; at least 3 years of experience in one or more of CENTCOM AOR, MISO, MILDEC, CWMD, ORSA, CYBER, AT/FP, SNA, Special Programs, or Interagency experience; OR an equivalent combination of at least 5 years of SOF operational experience and education.
• Experience designing and planning joint SOF exercises across the JELC.
• Willingness to travel CONUS/OCONUS up to 100 days per year in support of assigned JELC events.
