Job Summary and Qualifications

The Pharmacy Technician II contributes to high-quality, patient-centered care by performing technical tasks vital to medication distribution. Under supervision, they accurately compound, fill, label, and distribute medications according to procedures and regulations. They maintain drug inventory and patient records, and implement quality checks and performance improvements.

• Procures and distributes medications per requests or work assignments.
• Fills and labels medication orders, prepackages medications following policies.
• Rounds in patient care areas, delivers medications, and retrieves new orders.
• Dispenses controlled substances with proper documentation, reports discrepancies.
• Ensures medications are checked and released by a pharmacist before dispensing.

Qualifications Needed

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacy tech.
• Over 3 months experience in product compounding.
