PharMerica in Indianapolis, IN is hiring a full-time Pharmacy IV Technician to join a closed-door, non-retail pharmacy serving long-term care and senior living clients. You will work in a Class 100 cleanroom, performing sterile compounding and assisting pharmacists.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11am–8pm. We offer benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, tuition discounts, and shift differential. We cover Pharmacy Technician license fees for new hires and current staff.

Qualificações

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician license as required by state.
• 6–12 months IV Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to operate a computer and identify medications.
• Detail oriented and team player with strong communication.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain the Sterile Compounding Room per USP 797 and state standards.
• Prepare sterile preparations in a Class 100 cleanroom environment.
• Fill prescriptions for long-term care residents and Alere high-risk patients.
• Support QA processes and ensure compliance with documentation requirements.
• Assist pharmacists with data entry, refills, and nursing home communications.
• Stage, prepare, and fill medication orders accurately.
• Maintain infusion pumps and other sterile compounding equipment for safety.
• Replenish Emergency Drug Kits for long-term care facilities.
• Ship and track Alere packages via third‑party providers.
• Support inventory, filing, phones, and stocking in the IV department.
• Collaborate with Lead IV Technician and Pharmacy Supervisor on safety and compliance.
• Report any USP 797 compliance concerns promptly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Pharmacist/IV Supervisor/Director.

As a Pharmacy IV Technician you will:

• Clean, maintain, and monitor the Sterile Compounding Room in accordance with USP 797 and state regulatory standards. Compound sterile preparations, including those from non‑sterile powders, within a Class 100 cleanroom environment.
• Prepare and fill prescriptions for long‑term care residents and Alere high‑risk pregnancy patients, following established policies and quality standards.
• Support quality assurance (QA) processes, ensuring compliance with all compounding and documentation requirements.
• Assist pharmacists with data entry, refill coordination, and communication with nursing homes and Alere clients.
• Stage, prepare, and fill medication orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain and clean infusion pumps and other sterile compounding equipment, ensuring proper calibration and safety.
• Replenish and maintain Emergency Drug Kits (EDK) for long‑term care facilities.
• Perform shipping and tracking of Alere packages via third‑party overnight logistics providers.
• Support inventory management, filing, answering phones, and stocking areas within the IV department.
• Collaborate with the Lead IV Technician and Pharmacy Supervisor to maintain a safe, compliant, and organized work environment.
• Promptly report any operational or compliance concerns related to USP 797 standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pharmacist, IV Supervisor, or Director of Pharmacy.

• 6 months – 1 year of IV Pharmacy Technician experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to operate a computer; recognize and identify medications.
• Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, and effective oral communication.

Desired:

• Long Term Care pharmacy experience.
