Job summary

Central Admixture Pharmacy in New Orleans, LA, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to prepare compounded sterile products under the direction of a pharmacist.

The role requires Louisiana licensure, a high school diploma, and applicable industry certification. Aseptic processing training is desirable and will be provided. Schedule is 8:30am–5:00pm with rotating shifts; salary ranges from $18.54 to $21.63 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Industry certification required.
  • Aseptic processing training/experience desired; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to CAPS policies and procedures.
  • Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique.
  • Assists in setup of the compounding room, equipment and supplies.
  • Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Participates in cleanroom product introduction activities.
  • Prepares records and monitors results for QA testing.

Position Summary

Pharmacy Technician prepares compounded sterile products and performs related activities under the direction of a pharmacist.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties
  • Adheres to all CAPS policies and procedures
  • Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique.
  • Assists in the setup of the compounding room, equipment, and supplies for preparation of compounded sterile solutions, using aseptic technique.
  • Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties as directed.
  • Participates in cleanroom product introduction activities.
  • Prepares records and monitors results for pharmaceutical quality assurance testing.

  • Requires working knowledge of technical field/area of specialization.

Expertise: Qualifications - Education/Experience/Training/Etc
  • Pharmacy Technician state license - issues by Louisiana Pharmacy Board
  • High school diploma/G.E.D or equivalent required.
  • Applicable industry/professional certification required.
  • Aseptic processing training/experience desired, training will be provided.
Schedule and Salary
  • Schedule: (8:30am - 5:00pm), Rotating shifts, weekdays and weekends. Holidays/overtime as needed
  • Salary Range: $18.54 - $21.63

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
