Job summary

University of Mississippi Medical Center, Grants Ferry, is seeking a dedicated LPN to assist in direct patient care, administer and monitor treatments per the care plan, and perform tasks across a moderate range of clinical duties within the unit.

The ideal candidate holds a valid LPN license, with IV therapy certification if required by the unit, and BLS within 90 days of hire; strong communication, teamwork, and record-keeping skills are essential.

Qualifications

• LPN license and IV therapy certification as required by clinical area.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of patient care procedures and clinical protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care by executing and administering treatments and procedures directed by supervisor.
• Reports to supervisor and other staff any patient issues and concerns.
• Maintains accurate patient records (e.g. charts, schedules, procedures, medication /treatment history).
• Educates patients and family members in accordance with established plan of care.
• Functions in expanded role of IV therapy in accordance with regulatory standards, if required by clinical area.
• Serves on at least one nursing council, hospital, or medical center committee, task force, or project team to improve patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
