Motion Industries is seeking a Systems Administrator II to design, implement, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure across Windows and Linux servers, VMware ESX, AD, and O365. The role supports development and 3rd‑level endpoint tasks, with a focus on high‑level problem solving and cross‑platform collaboration.
Typical responsibilities include server administration, platform diagramming, BC planning, and complex troubleshooting.
SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Systems Administrator II assists with the design, implementation, maintenance, and primary support of Intel platforms within Motion's enterprise technology environment. This includes Windows and Linux servers, VMware, ESX infrastructure, storage, Active Directory, O365, development support & planning of systems and applications infrastructure, and 3rd-level endpoint support as needed. This role requires strong knowledge of server and desktop processing/operating systems that enables them to work at the highest level of all computer operations phases. This role handles complex problems across multiple technology platforms. You must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
Typically requires a bachelor's degree and three (3) to five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
Comprehensive hands-on knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems (Open shift preferred). A good foundation in a range of programming languages with strong problem-solving skills to analyze complex and large-scale distributed systems. Experience with VMware virtualization technology. Experience with O365 products. Experience with Active directory and Group Policy. Scripting (Linux shell, PowerShell). Experience with of various IT infrastructure hardware (servers, switches, SAN fabric, and mid-range platforms. Strong problem determination skills and ability to work under pressure are essential to this job. Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, business analysts and testers. Knowledge/experience of cloud architecture methodologies including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. Experience resolving recovery procedures and experience working with basic operating systems and systems performance-monitoring tools. Experience with and knowledge of IT infrastructure such as servers, routers, switches, LAN, firewalls, security updates, etc.
