Job summary

Milestones Children’s Center seeks a Pediatric Itinerant Speech Language Pathologist to serve children in homes and center settings around Oswego, NY. CFYs welcome and NY licensure/eligibility required for SLP roles.

You will travel to families’ homes (95%) and work at a center location (5%), supporting speech, language, and swallowing needs while promoting language-rich interactions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
• Licensed or eligible for NYS Speech-Language Pathology license.
• Licensed or eligible for NYS Teacher Certification for TSLD/TSHH.

Responsibilities

• Travel to children's homes to support speech and language goals.
• Observe, evaluate, and document progress for IEPs.
• Develop goals and instructional materials aligned with IEPs.
• Communicate progress with families, school staff, and therapists.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support development.

Setting and Location forPediatric SLP Job

95%: Itinerant/Travel inOswego County - You will be working with children in theirfamily’s home. (Don’t worry! We include mileage/gasreimbursement!)

5%: Center work at ourcenter located at 10 Burkle Street, Oswego, NY 13126.

About the Itinerant HomeSpeech Pathology Role

We are on the lookout for aSpeech Language Pathologist to join our Itinerant careteam. In this role, you will travel to family's homes to supportchildren with special health care needs in their familiar homeenvironment.

Provide exceptional careand instruction

• Support and develop thespeech, language, and swallowing needs for toddlers andchildren, ages 18 months to 5 years.
  
• Teach using behaviormodification and positive reinforcementtechniques.
  
• Support the toddler orchild’s understanding through strong, language-based,on-on-one interaction.
  
• Create a fun and excitingenvironment for support and encourage the child’s continuedsuccess.
  
• Maintain a caring andtrusting relationship with the families who trust you withtheir child’s speech therapy needs.
  

Travel

• ALL Itinerant staff willreceive mileage reimbursement to travel to children’shomes.
  
• ALL Itinerant staff willreceive a company provided iPad for easy and paperlessmileage tracking, note taking, data reporting, andmore.
  

Planning and Data Analysis

• Observe, evaluate, andprepare reports on progress for IEPs of the children.
  
• Document your workincluding notes, care plans and ongoing progress withhigh levels of accuracy and timeliness in ourpaperless electronic health record system.
  
• Prepares goals andinstructional materials according to the goals establishedby the Individual Education Plan.
  
• Discuss the developmentof the IEP with parents, administrators, testingspecialists, social workers, and others.
