Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools in Potomac, MD is seeking a Paraeducator II for one-on-one support of a special education student at Wayside Elementary School. Hours are 1:15–3:45, part-time (25 hours bi-weekly) over 10 months.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development, instructional strategies and practices applicable to assignment, and instructional goals and policies of Montgomery County Public Schools.
• Knowledge of standard computer hardware and software such as Google Workspace, MS Office and web-based instructional tools.

Responsibilities

• Promote student learning and well-being to support students with IEPs.
• Assist students with academic, behavioral, social, emotional, and physical needs.
• Facilitate mastery of grade-level curriculum or alternate standards and manage behaviors.
• Provide instructional and classroom management supports and related clerical tasks.
• Work with students in general education and specialized instructional settings; may work off school grounds.
• Support flexible scheduling and adapt to location changes as required.
