Job summary

Adelphi is seeking a licensed clinical social worker–clinical to provide school-based therapeutic services at a Frederick, MD area school. The itinerant clinician will travel to about eight schools weekly to support students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.

The role requires an MSW, an LCSW-C license in Maryland, and at least three years of therapy experience, with strong communication and ethics. Start anticipated November 2026; contract position with district-aligned guidelines.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current Maryland LCSW-C license.
• Minimum of three years of professional experience as a therapist.
• Demonstrated outstanding written and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of professional ethics and behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Travel to multiple assigned schools (approximately 8 locations) throughout the week to deliver school-based therapeutic services.
• Provide individual and group therapeutic counseling services to students experiencing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
• Assess student mental health needs and develop appropriate therapeutic intervention plans.
• Provide crisis intervention and behavioral support services as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to address student needs.
• Coordinate therapeutic services with school personnel and community-based agencies.
• Participate in IEP meetings and student support team discussions as appropriate.
• Develop and implement interventions to improve students' emotional regulation, coping skills, and social functioning.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, interventions, and student progress.
• Monitor student outcomes and adjust therapeutic approaches as necessary.
• Provide consultation and recommendations to school staff regarding student mental health and behavioral concerns.
• Ensure services comply with district policies, confidentiality requirements, and professional standards.
