Job summary

YKHC is seeking an Itinerant Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide primary, urgent, and preventive care across rural Alaska village clinics. The role includes float coverage to Bethel-area clinics, with emphasis on comprehensive family medicine, obstetric and prenatal care, and emergency procedures.

The position requires a PA or NP board-certified credential, Alaska license, and active DEA and national certification, plus experience in outpatient settings and mentoring health

Qualifications

• PA/NP must have completed an approved Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Training Program and licensure.
• Minimum four years of experience in Outpatient Clinic environments; family practice, routine and emergency/urgent care, chronic care.
• Experience with adults, pediatric, OBGYN and prenatal care.
• Suturing, splinting and emergency procedures experience preferred.
• Alaska License, DEA license, and national certification required.
• Proficient in using computerized medical records and basic computer skills.
• Ability to supervise and mentor NP/PA students and oversee community Health Aide clinical practice.
