Job summary

Limestone County Board of Education is seeking an ITINERANT INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT to support a certified teacher and assist students, including those with disabilities, in meeting daily instructional objectives. The role involves small-group instruction, classroom material preparation, and general supervision of students under a licensed teacher's guidance.

Salary will be established by the Limestone County School District Salary Schedule.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of higher education or successful passage of the Work Keys test.
• Prior experience with students with disabilities preferred.
• Able to manage dependent students; knowledge of instructional strategies.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a certified teacher, perform tasks related to instruction.
• Work with identified students to reinforce learning and behavior plans.
• Assist in small group instruction and follow teacher-led lesson plans.
• Prepare instructional materials for classroom use.
• Assist with routine clerical duties and grading papers.
• Support teacher in activities prescribed by therapists or related staff.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, study hall, and field trips.
