Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an IT Windows Systems Administrator to join the Windows Infrastructure team. You will support SpaceX personnel, maintain AD/DNS/DHCP/IIS, manage O365 workloads, and implement security-aligned policies in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong scripting (PowerShell/Python), ITAR awareness, and a self-driven approach with willingness to work extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline; 1+ years IT systems administration or 3+ years without a degree.
• 3+ years managing Windows-based infrastructure: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, etc.

Responsibilities

IT WINDOWS SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

SpaceX is looking for a Systems Administrator with knowledge and broad experience across Microsoft-based technologies. This employee will be a member of the Information Technology Windows Infrastructure team and will support all SpaceX personnel. The ideal candidate will be flexible and flourish in a fast-paced and challenging environment. They should be a self-starter, self-motivator, and possess ingenuity to excel at this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support users and maintain critical resources in a broad range of use cases and environments.
• Troubleshoot and recover failed Windows systems or resources.
• Implement policies based on guidance from security and engineering teams.
• Define, document, and implement best practice standards.
• Support user productivity applications such as O365, Outlook, Teams.
• Monitor for and remediate critical issues in production environments.
• Contribute to Internal Documentation and Runbooks.
• Partner with Internal Service Desk Teams for ticketing escalations and triage.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 1+ years of experience in IT systems administration OR 3+ years of experience in IT systems administration without a degree.
• 3+ years of experience maintaining a Windows-based infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, etc.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with Authentication and SSO solutions (SAML, OIDC/OAUTH, Flask, Mellon, ADFS, NPS/Radius/Tacacs).
• 5+ years implementing and troubleshooting Windows systems (Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016+).
• Analysis of memory dump and logs for advanced troubleshooting of systems.
• Recovery of failed Windows systems (unable to boot).
• Imaging of Windows systems (WDS, sysprep).
• Operating system patch management at scale.
• Experience in leveraging code repositories and revisioning tools.
• Understanding of EntraID as an authentication platform and Identity Provider with security features.
• Experience with scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Python, Bash.
• Experience in user administration in Active Directory and EntraID.
• Experience in supporting the Microsoft Office 365 suite on workstations and mobile devices, such as Microsoft Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
