Job Title: Technical Writer – Level 3

Location: Onsite – Austin, TX

Duration: Long term

Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (occasional weekends/evenings may be required)

Work Type: 100% Onsite

Note: Need someone with State or Federal Client Experience.

Position Overview:

Seeking a senior-level Technical Writer to develop, maintain, and enhance documentation, policies, procedures, and technical materials for IT teams. The role involves close collaboration with technical and leadership teams to structure materials logically, ensuring clarity, compliance, and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop user and technical documentation, manuals, procedures, and guidelines.
Coordinate and edit content with IT and functional teams to ensure consistency and clarity.
Write and organize material for a variety of audiences, including end-users, executives, and stakeholders.
Research, analyze, and present data in concise, readable formats.
Prepare materials for management and executive-level presentations.
Support process improvements and data visualization through effective documentation.
Monitor and implement documentation standards and maintain version control.

Required Skills & Experience:

8+ years writing/editing technical, policy, and procedural documents.
Strong experience consulting with technical staff to develop documentation.
Skilled in creating responses, reports, surveys, and formal communication materials.
Ability to present documentation updates to upper management and stakeholders.

Preferred Experience:

5+ years of experience in a public sector environment.
Knowledge of IT policies, procedures, and frameworks.

Additional Requirements:

Strong organizational, research, and prioritization skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
Understanding of Six Sigma and ITIL methodologies is a plus.
Must handle confidential data with integrity and care.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
